2026 FOCS Scholarships

We are delighted to announce that, once again, the generous Chimacum community has outdone itself and set a new record for scholarship donations; a grand total of $134,000 is being awarded to the class of 2026 and to Chimacum graduates who continue to do well in college. These students are remarkable not only for their academic and athletic accomplishments, but also for the empathy and kindness they have consistently shown others. Whether they become welders, boat builders, environmental lawyers, nurses, graphic designers, medical professionals, astronomers, or some other profession, they represent the best hopes of our community. Congratulations to these wonderful students!

THE ROSS AND CLAUDINE ROESLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP:
This generous scholarship honors the legacy of Ross and Claudine Roesler, longtime residents of Port Ludlow. A philanthropist who was especially interested in enhancing medical care and support for patients and their families, Claudine was also an enthusiastic supporter of Chimacum Schools. She endowed nearly one million dollars to the Harrison Medical Center Foundation, as well as an additional million dollars to Jefferson Healthcare and Chimacum Schools. Because of positive market growth this year, we are able to grant recipients of this four-year scholarship $12,000 this year, rather than the previous $10,000. In addition to this year’s winner, KEENAN ALLEN, the following students will receive an additional $12,000 this year:
CONNOR PATTERSON (class of 2023): Conner is majoring in mechanical engineering at the University of California Davis, where he has just completed his third year.
REID MARTIN (class of 2024): Reid is currently majoring in forestry at the University of Montana, with a minor in ecological restoration. He will be doing forest ecology work in Montana this summer.
JOHN NUCHIA: (class of 2025): Another Chimacum graduate who is passionate about protecting the environment, John is majoring in environmental science and policy at Western Washington University, where he is currently completing his first year of studies.
Thank you!
The Friends of Chimacum School Education Foundation applauds the students of the class of 2023 for their exceptional good character, leadership, and academic excellence, and wishes them all the best as they pursue their dreams. We are so grateful to the teachers, administrators, staff, family, and community members who have been so supportive during these challenging times. A very special thank you goes to our amazing donors, whose generous support changes lives.
